Small Businesses Can be Found Online Too
Small Businesses can be found online too! In my last post, I talked about small businesses and shared a few local shops. Click on the link to that post.
In this week’s post, I wanted to continue that, online businesses can be small business owners as well. These are a few online shops that I wanted to share.
It’s no surprise to anyone that online shopping has become so huge. According to Sleeknote online shopping from what was a new concept in 1994 is now a trillion-dollar industry. With this growth, e-commerce is here to stay.
There is no doubt it is not only convenient but necessary for some people who do not have the variety of stores near them.
I know as someone who has always lived in a rural area shopping on Amazon is very convenient and sometimes necessary.
During the shut down with the pandemic, we were able to order many things online and get them delivered right to our door.
Amazon by far has the biggest e-commerce presence but did you know by doing a little searching you can find many small businesses with a “storefront” online?
Many shops set up their businesses to sell online when their doors were closed during the COVID restrictions.
Other online businesses might choose to reach customers this way if they do not have a brick & mortar store and just work out of their home.
Etsy is a great example of business owners and even artists that can reach potential customers on this platform.
If you are not familiar with Etsy according to Wikipedia: Etsy is an American e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items and craft supplies.
These items fall under a wide range of categories, including jewelry, bags, clothing, home décor and furniture, toys, art, as well as craft supplies and tools. All vintage items must be at least 20 years old.

I have shopped on Etsy and I’m always surprised by the variety of items sold there. One shop I wanted to highlight is:” Everly Grace Design”, just click on the highlighted area!
This is a shop owned and run by a cousin of mine. With personalized craft items that can be made at home, you can shop at this business on Etsy and customize a nice gift item & have it delivered to your door.
Once you start looking around on Etsy you will have a cart full of beautiful items saved! Ask me how I know??!
Another shop I wanted to share was this one: www.bakerytee.com. I’m really not sure how I came across it but loved her story. I think with having the baking business out of my home for so many years I could relate to her story.

She not only bakes for customers but has designed these cute Tshirts and sweatshirts! She also guides fellow bakers on the business side of things which can be so helpful!
This link shows just one of the many cute items she sells! Click link!
And finally, if any of you are familiar with Roanoke, Virginia you may have shopped at this store! Due to the closure of the last several months the shop owner had to get creative on selling her one of a kind items.
The Golden Shoestring is the nicest upscale consignment shop I have seen. Lee, the owner is smart not only with fashion but she already had a Facebook & Instagram presence online to show off the latest items she receives in her store.
